THEN: This 1937 photo shows the Bureau of Sewers pumping station on Eastern Avenue. It was built in 1912 is still a functioning sewage pumping station. (Baltimore Sun file photo, 1937)

NOW: Eastern Avenue Pumping Station, called the only one of its kind, has delighted engineering geeks and other Inner Harbor visitors with a peek into a world of odoriferous sewer pipes, spidery tunnels and water treatment plants since it opened decades ago.
